Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's office confirms Friday's hearing on HR44 or the Guam World War II Loyalty Recognition Act will be streaming live on the House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Oceans and Insular Affairs website.

The hearing begins at 10:00am in the nation's capitol Thursday which is 12:00am Friday Guam time. You can watch the hearing streaming live http://naturalresources.house.gov/Live/.

The following individuals have been invited to testify at the hearing:

· The Honorable Eddie Baza Calvo, Governor of Guam

· Mr. Nik Pula, Director, Office of Insular Affairs Department of the Interior

· Mr. Mauricio Tamargo, Former Chairman, Guam War Claims Review Commission/Former Chairman, United States  Foreign Claims Settlement Commission

· Brig. Gen. V.G. Ben Blaz, USMC (Ret), Former Member of Congress

HR44 would implement the recommendations by the Guam War Claims Review Commission which in 2004 found there were significant disparities in the treatment of war claims for Guam as compared to war claims for other Americans.  HR44 provides compensation for living survivors but excludes payments to their descendants.
