by Sabrina Salas Matanane

Guam - Prior to the hearing on H.R. 44, Governor Eddie Calvo along with CNMI Governor Benigno Fitial and other witnesses were invited to discuss Public Law 110-229 or the Consolidated Natural Resources Act. The federal law placed CNMI immigration under federal control and established the Guam-CNMI visa waiver program.

Guam has been pushing for parole authority for China and Russia. According to Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's office, although Speaker Judi Won Pat was not invited they will recommend she be added to the panel, but the final selection is made by the chairman and ranking member of the committee.
