Man held on bail for child abuse, assault

by Mindy Aguon

Guam - Anthony Dereck Rosario is being held on $5,000 cash bail after he allegedly knocked a woman unconscious then brought his 4-year-old child with him on a police chase. According to court documents, Rosario allegedly assaulted a woman known to him, dragged her on the ground and knocked her unconscious.

A witness told police they saw him throw a boulder at her while she lay on the ground.  Rosario then got into his car and led police on a high speed chase through Dededo while the child was standing with his hands on the dashboard. Police managed to arrest him and charged him with terrorizing, child abuse, family violence, assault, reckless conduct and eluding a police officer.

Rosario was ordered to remain behind bars and a further proceedings hearing is scheduled for July 15.
