Guam - The Guam Education Board has released the names of the ten individuals that have applied for the Department of Education's superintendent position. Michele Mendiola and Dr. Faye Untalan are both from off-island, the rest reside locally - Vincent Leon Guerrero, Salvador Avilla, Edwin Quitano, Albert San Agustin, Begona Flores, Jeanette Yamashita, Will Castro and Kenneth Chargualaf.

The GEB plans to narrow the list down to three and hope to hire a new superintendent before the new school year starts in August. As for Dr. Nerissa Underwood, her contract expires at the end of the month.
