Guam - The Annual TAG Cup Golf Tournament was held at the Admiral Nimitz Golf Course commemorating 30 years of dedicated service to the island and nation by the Soldiers, Airmen, Civilians and Family members of the organization.
General Benny Paulino said, "This event brings together members of the Army National Guard, Air National Guard and family members of the National Guard as well as former National Guard members and retirees. The whole purpose of the event is like I said to celebrate our 30th anniversary and at the same time create a little competition amongst our units. And the purpose of the competition is to build teamwork and a little bit of fun events with other units, build the camaraderie in the spirit and of course lift the morale of the organization."
The tournament was open to all those over the age of 16 and who were either Guam National Guard members, Retirees, family members, contractors and Department of Military Affairs employees.
"It's really a lot of fun and the camaraderie that's built is tremendous so speaking as a member of the Guard I would like to say thanks to the organizer of this tournament," said the general. "Of course, the TAG organizers and the people that help do this and I think it's getting the best of all of us competition wise and I can say that this is wonderful. We are all out having a good time with all of our members and it's a special anniversary for us, 30th year and I look forward to continuing to serve as a member and we also look forward to events like this because it really helps round out our service and again just grateful to be a part of it, thank you."
