Deadline Tuesday for Mamizu MACC bids

Posted: Updated:

Guam - Tomorrow is the deadline for interested companies to place bids on the Government of Japan-funded Multiple Military Contractor or Mamizu MACC. Last month an amendment was made that place the bid submission deadline on hold indefinitely but the Naval Facilities Engineering Command then made changes making the new deadline June 21.

Other amendments included portions of the contract related to the construction of a waterfront headquarters building, shortening the time to exercise construction options and revising the contractor workforce housing and logistics. While there's no official word on when the Mamizu MACC will actually be awarded, when it happens it will mark the biggest military contract the navy has ever awarded, worth $3 billion.

The Guam Contractors' Association believes that a list of companies that compete for the contract will be released around the time the actual projects are awarded.
