Guam - Georgia may have Paula Deen, but Guam has Paula Quinene. Former Yigo resident Paula A. Lujan Quinene, who now resides in North Carolina, has made her mark cooking up a storm. Born and raised on Guam, this class of 1992 Simon Sanchez graduate went on to receive her bachelors degree in exercise science from University of Oregon in 1997 and has been keeping busy as a nutrition, health and fitness writer having contributed over 70 articles a month for LiveStrong.com.

On top of all of that, Quinene has published two sizzling hot Guam cookbooks: "A Taste of Guam" and "Remember Guam", both of which were designed to share Chamorro culture through food. In fact, if you look through many reviews and comments on her books on sites like Amazon or Barnes & Noble, you will find that all rave about the amazing recipes and delicious foods.

Although Quinene has resided in Holly Springs, North Carolina for over ten years now, her longing and homesickness for the island has led her to create her cookbooks. Currently she's working on a romance novel based on Guam and she continues to pen food reviews for bakeries and restaurants.
