Guam - Just in time for summer, kids in Piti now have a new place to hang. A new youth center was recently unveiled. Piti Mayor Ben Gumataotao says he was able to open the center without spending any government funds, relying only on community donations.

The mayor explained, "When you find kids with no place to go and relax and spend a little time of their own they become troublemaker [sic], they find some way to destroy something but if they have a place to study cause we have computer there and study room [sic] in there, and I find these children be very happy."

The space is equipped with a TV, ping-pong table and computer lab with plans to add library the future. Gumataotao says the center will be open from 2pm to 6pm but he eventually hopes to extend the hours.
