Guam - A major milestone was made this past week regarding the establishment and composition of Guam's Building Code Council. That's according to Senator Tom Ada who introduced the legislation that is now Public Law 31-17 providing guidelines for the Council. The council is charged with the responsibility to keep the islands buildings and fire codes up to date, and serve as a board of appeals for disputes related to the codes.
The candidate list for the Council was submitted to the Governor's Office for review.
Senator Ada states, "With this first milestone met, the next step is for the Governor to forward his choices for Council members to the Legislature for confirmation. Thereafter, the Guam Building Code Council will be able to begin its important work."
