Guam - The Father Duenas Friars are heading to this year's boy's high school soccer championship game after defeating the George Washington Geckos yesterday at the GFA Field in Harmon. FD entered the game as the only undefeated team in this year's season and continued that run with the 5-1 win over G-Dub.

Goals by Ryan Abdullah and Jordan Gregory gave the Friars the advantage heading into the half. Abdullah found the back of the net on a header minutes into the game. Up 3-0 in the 2nd FD added 2 more scores to go up 5-0. Brandon Johnson and John llao kept the Friars ahead as time was running out for the Geckos - the two scored goals minutes apart feeding on the crowd's energy.

In the 74th minute, Shawn Spindel found some daylight and scored his team's lone goal to give GW fans something to cheer about. F.D will make their 3rd straight appearance in the finals. The defending champs are attempting to make it 2 in a row.

Meeting the Friars in the title game will be the Southern High Dolphins. Southern got the win over the Harvest Christian Academy Eagles 6-1 in the later game. The Dolphins were the #2 seed entering the playoffs after losing their only game of the season to the Friars a couple of weeks ago. The Dolphins lost that match 3-0 without their leading scorer who sat out with a suspension.

Southern High will look for redemption against the Friars this Saturday at the GFA Field at 6:30pm.
