Guam - The Father Duenas Friars are now the only undefeated team left in boy's high school soccer. FD defeated Southern High 3-0 yesterday at the LeoPalace Field to hand the Dolphins their first loss of the season. Southern High ended the half down 2-0 but kept the ball on the Friars side of the field during the last few minutes left in the first half.
Scores by Patrick Soto and Jordan Gregory gave the Friars the advantage coming out of halftime. The 2nd half saw more shots on goal by the Dolphins but keeper Joshua Bordallo stepped up and made plays to keep them from getting any shots through. Thomas Shimizu scored the Friars last goal of the match from a little over 20 yards out.
With the win the Friars hold on to first place with a 9-0 record, Southern High is now 8-1. The last regular season games take place tomorrow with the playoffs scheduled to start on Thursday the 12th at various fields around the island.
