Guam - It's been almost a year since the Guam Memorial Hospital was given accreditation from the Joint Commission and next week the island will recognize the dedication of the employees of GMH. This year's theme of National Hospital Week is "Champions of Care", recognizing to recognize those who are committed to improving the island's healthcare system on a daily basis serving the community.

This morning Acting Governor Ray Tenorio expressed the Calvo Administration's "absolute confidence" in the employees of the hospital and thanked them for their hard work. He said, "As you do your work and you nurse them back to health and give them medicines and the therapy you enrich their lives and you improve the quality of the people of Guam's lives."

Hospital Week events kickoff with a special open house next week Monday and various departments will be having events throughout the week. Festivities will wrap-up with a 5k race next Saturday.
