Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo heads off-island tomorrow. His first stop will be to North Carolina where he will meet Education Secretary Arne Duncan to discuss stimulus funding issues. The Department of Education has until September to spend American Reinvestment and Recovery Act money or lose it.
The island's chief executive will then head to the nation's capitol to follow up on his meetings with Senators Carl Levin and Jim Webb as well as Department of Defense officials to continue dialogue on the buildup and an array of other issues such as the China-Russia visa waiver program.
