Int'l table tennis tourney under way

Guam - In table tennis from the Calvo Enterprises 2011 Junior & Cadet Open. Australia's Sandy Masen taking on New Zealand's Sophia Dong. In the race to 11 best of 5 games, Dong walked away with the win 11-8, 11-5, 6-11, 8-11, 11-5.

Vy Tuong from Australia faced Roufei Rao from New Zealand on court 2. The 2 players were even after 4 games sending the match to the 5th and final set. Vy Tuong earned the win 8-11, 11-4, 13-11, 11-13, 11-3.

Team Guam's Eddie Huang barely missed the cut, placing 8th in the competition losing to Teitua Beia from Kirabati in three games. Beia won 11-7, 11-6, 5-11, 12-10. This was his first international competition and represented well for Guam.

Teammate Kenan Quinata took on Fiji's Jun Young Park, Quinata fell to Park in three games, 11-7, 12-10, 11-9.
