Guam - Several of the island's lawmakers took a tour of the facilities at Andersen Air Force Base in Yigo today. Military Buildup Committee chairperson Senator Judi Guthertz says they were invited by base Brigadier General John Doucette a couple of weeks ago to take a look at how things operate on the base.

While touring the base, Guthertz says they are also looking at possible existing federal property that the military can use to accommodate the relocation of U.S. Marines from Okinawa to guam. Guthertz expressed her appreciation, as she got the opportunity to see sites she never knew existed behind the fence including the firing range and the more than 1,100 base housing unites.

She adds they are also hoping to take a tour of the naval bases in the near future.
