Guam - Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense are wrapping up their assessment of the Government of Guam's response to the March tsunami warning incident. According to agency spokesperson Alyssa Benito, aside from communication problems there are other issues they are looking to improve upon.
"Transportation was an issue," she noted, "so we're working with DPW and other private sector to make sure that not an issue anymore there's a lot of chaos in picking up senior citizens and taking them to staging area and where to stage them. So we're working to ensure that problem doesn't arrive again in the event of another tsunami warning."
The final assessment report is expected to completed this week.
