Guam - F.B. Leon Guerrero Middle School in Yigo was placed under locked down for about a half-hour this morning. According to principal Carla Masnayan, students reported that they saw a classmate with a gun on campus.
She adds the students who were accused of having the weapon said they found it on campus yesterday, but threw it in the jungle area behind the school. Officials searched the area and the hallways, but did not find a gun. Police were then called in and the lock down was implemented.
Masnayon says they did not find the weapon during the school wide search. She says the incident remains under investigation. She told KUAM News, "We are not doing any charges or disciplinary action on the student until I find out more information because I want to also find out form my teachers if they heard even a small inkling that there was something on campus."
Several parents who heard about the incident rushed to the campus to pull their children out of school. But again, no gun was found.
