Guam - Approximately 800 soldiers from Guam and the CNMI have been put on notice that they may be deploying to Afghanistan in 2013. Troops with the Guam National Guard's 1-294th Infantry Regiment and F Company, 24th Support Battalion have been tapped to be part of the biggest deployment ever for our island.
The soldiers will be attached with the Hawaii National Guard, however details about the mission is not yet available. Adjutant General Major General Benny Paulino says, "Our priority right now is to make sure our troops are ready for the mission and that their families are prepared."
