Guam - Madeleine Bordallo received the Legislative Leader award from the Humane Society of the United States. Guam's congressional delegate was recognized for her leadership in crafting legislation towards the protection of animals, namely for her work in outlawing shark finning. She joins 145 other legislators from the Senate and House to get the designation.
Bordallo also lent support for banning commercial whaling; and protecting marine turtles and other types of wildlife like elephants, great apes, rhinoceroses and tigers.
