Guam - The four female individuals that ran away from the Department of Youth Affairs cottage homes last night were apprehended today. The teens escaped from the Talofofo facility around 9pm Tuesday night.
DYA officials say the facility is not fenced-off or locked because minors there do not pose a threat to the community. DYA Director Adonis Mendiola says the girls were remanded to DYA initially for truancy and beyond control.
DYA officers and Guam Police have been searching the area for the clients. Police say the teens were caught in Tamuning around 2:30 this afternoon on Sergeant Camacho Street and are being processed with the Juvenile Investigations Section.
The four will be turned over to DYA where they will be confined, and DYA officials say the incident remains under investigation.
