Guam - A Healthy Generations Senior Health Fair was held today the Marriott Resort in Tumon. Program coordinator with the Division of Senior Citizens under the Department of Public Health Charlene San Nicolas says the two-day event allows senior citizens to learn more about health topics on aging, dementia and other things.
The event included exhibits, health screenings, fitness exercise with nine vendors providing additional information. "Annually, it's very good," she said. "It's a very good way to get the information out to our seniors who may not be aware. This is one of our big events to educate them and let them speak one to one with the different aging and health providers so that if they want to learn more information on vision, they have the opportunity. If they want more information on breast and cervical awareness, or comprehensive cancer, diabetes prevention, and aging services."
Senior citizens from the various centers were transported to the fair today. In the meantime, the fair will continue throughout the day tomorrow in Tumon.
