Guam - The newly confirmed Guam Education Board will be meeting this week to discuss portions of the Department of Education's Fiscal Year 2012 budget. Deputy Superintendent for Finance and Administrative Services Taling Taitano says while the budget is on the agenda, she says members have agreed that more time is needed for review before approving the document.

She told KUAM News, "The board has asked for us to put together a couple of working sessions and a special meeting so they can have more time to focus on it. So we have work sessions scheduled for April 4 and 5th, with a special meeting just on budget set for April 6."

While DOE waits to have a budget passed, Taitano says the board will also discuss the watch and warning issued by the education financial supervisory commission. In the meantime, the meeting will be held tomorrow beginning at 6pm at the DOE Conference Room in Hagatna.
