Guam - The southern village of Merizo hosted its 2nd Annual Crab Festival, which opened last night. The festival was scheduled just in time for the Mes Chamorro celebration. Secretary of the Merizo Municipal Planning Council Julie Cruz says today, the event began with local entertainment, with more things planned for tomorrow.

"Tomorrow we're actually having the crab tasting contest which is based on creativity, presentation and taste and so we're hoping to see the folks from the Guam Visitors Bureau come down as part of the judges because they were here yesterday for the unveiling of our mural," she told KUAM News.

The tasting contest begins at 3pm tomorrow. The winner of the Best Tasting Crab competition will win $300.
