Guam - Congresswoman Madeline Bordallo is reacting to a local lawmaker's efforts to have a legal review done on whether a lawsuit could be filed against the federal government for war reparations. Bordallo, in a statement released to KUAM News, stated, "Proposals to raise a lawsuit has been raised in the past on various occasions. Apart from the issue on whether it would be successful, it raises concerns on whether it would complicate efforts to pass legislation in Congress."
Senator Frank Blas, Jr. had asked Guam Attorney General Lenny Rapadas to conduct a legal review of the possibility to sue the federal government as he says war reparations may not become a reality for World War II survivors who are passing away.
