Guam - Parks and Recreation lifeguards responded to two separate incidents of distressed swimmers at Ypao Beach today. Lifeguards around noon rescued a 29-year-old Korean man and later in the afternoon a 32-year-old Japanese woman. This is a reminder the National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Warning in effect until 10am tomorrow.

High surf will affect exposed reefs and beaches in the area producing dangerous rip currents. You can expect hazardous surf of 7-9' through early Tuesday along north facing reefs. Surf should diminish to 6-8'. You are strongly encouraged to avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches especially those along north facing reefs as rip currents are life threatening.

There is also a Small Craft Advisory for hazardous seas in effect until 6am.
