Guam - For the second time in a month, the Agana Pool is closed. Department of Parks and Recreation Director Pete Calvo says the problem is the sewer system continues to overflow and back up into their septic tank area. He says they are working with the Guam Waterworks Authority to figure out a long-term solution to prevent the issue from happening again
"It just really up to GWA our understanding is it's a main line problem in which fills up and back up into our low lying area and GWA has indicated that part of that problem is caused by grease traps in the surrounding areas that may not be functioning properly," he said.
Calvo anticipates they will have a temporary fix to sewage problem, and hopes to reopen the pool tomorrow.
