Guam - Police Chief Fred Bordallo intends to reinstate James Santos to the rank of lieutenant. Santos was demoted following a government corruption investigation that alleged he had received government pay while simultaneously having outside employment.
Santos filed a grievance and Bordallo says after discussion with the Internal Affairs Division, he is waiting on the Attorney General's Office to prepare the paperwork to resolve the matter. Bordallo contends that the government corruption investigation was inconsistent with the administration findings and that the adverse action was unjust.
The chief says once he gets those clearances from the AG, Santos will be reinstated to the rank of lieutenant.
