Guam - The Department of Public Works is waiting for the drug test results to return for the bus driver that was holding John F. Kennedy High School student the other week and apparently crashed into another vehicle when he was making the left turn out of Tiyan onto Route 8.
DPW Bus Operations Superintendent Frank Taitano says the results will determine what type of adverse action the employee will receive, if any. The Guam Police Department cited the bus driver for improper lane change. Taitano said, "If it is not his fault then we put him back on the wheel, if it is his fault then we wait for the drug test to come back, if it comes back clean then he goes back to drive, but if it comes back and its not what we are looking for then we need to do our investigation and find out."
Taitano says bus drivers do receive behind the wheel training every summer. It's also been two years since the agency received mass drug testing, and DPW director Joanne Brown says more testing is dependant upon the decision of DOA.
