Guam - Now that the five members of the Guam Education Board have been confirmed by the Guam Legislature, they can now convene. According to board chair Ron Ayuyu, a special meeting has been scheduled for next Thursday.
The new members will be sworn in and the board will elect who will take over as chair and vice chair. Two people have already expressed interest in running for the chairmanship position. "They will be sworn in before six o'clock before our special board meeting and then we take the election of chairmanship and vice chair. So we have two board members who are running for chairmanship," he said. "We have Mr. Joe San Agustin and Mr. Francis Santos, who are considering running for the seat."
The meeting will be held at George Washington High's School cafeteria beginning at 6pm. With a full board in place, members can now go over and pass a budget for Fiscal Year 2012.
