Harmon boasts world-class soccer facility

by Dave Delgado

Guam - The 2011 Cars Plus Robbie Webber Youth Soccer League kicked off at the GFA Field in Harmon. Over 106 different teams with about 1,300 kids will be taking part in the league, which unveiled their new world class artificial field.

Marketing and media officer Brett Maluwelmeng told KUAM Sports the world-class field, "[Is] part of FIFA'S goal program and we are really lucky to have it. It's a world-class field, artificial turf. Third-generation sand and rubber and a lot of the top teams in the world use this type of field, so we're really happy to have it and we would like to thank of course FIFA for allowing us to build this field, AFC as well as GFA for getting the process in action.

"All the people that were part of it and all of this is for the teams so we would just like to thank everyone for being here and being a part of it and taking Guam to the next level in Football."
