Guam - Hundreds of island residents toured the new Learning Resource Center at the Guam Community College's Open Campus Day on Friday. The event included the driving of an Emergency Vehicle Operating Course simulator, got five dollar hair cuts, applied for jobs and learned about the GCC Work Keys Program.
The 2nd Annual Open Campus Day displayed what GCC has to offer. The day started off with a luncheon attended by over 50 businesspeople from various companies. Several representatives gave their perspective on the challenges that will face the island's workforce in the post buildup decade. Over 75 people attended the business session that followed this forum. Meantime, evening activities included the preview of the first four DVDs produced by GCC's Go'ti Yan Adahi I Fino'ta Chamorro Office.
In addition, various companies in the hotel industry formed a job fair at the atrium of GCC's new LRC. The whole day even also included a Poetry Slam.
