Three ordained to Sacred Order of Diaconate

Guam - Three men have been ordained to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate by Archbishop Anthony Apuron today. Two have been ordained as transitional deacons who will later become ordained as priests and one as a permanent deacon. A mass of ordination will be held today at the Cathedral-Basilica in Hagatna.

The two candidates for ordination as transitional deacons are Francesco Sebastiano Asproni from Italy and Edwin Bushu from Boston. The candidate for ordination as permanent deacon is John the Baptist Kim from Seoul, South Korea. The three have completed the requirements to include a five day retreat of solitude, fasting and prayer which was completed in a monastery in the Philippines.
