Guam - Jin Han Rivera is charged with marriage fraud accused of knowingly entering into a bogus marriage for the purpose of evading immigration laws. According to the federal complaint, Han married James M. Rivera after paying him $5,000.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted surveillance and saw that the two lived in different locations. James Rivera admitted to federal authorities that he had been promised up to $10,000 for marrying Jin Han and made false statements to immigration officers.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 9 before Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan.
