Guam - The Department of Chamorro Affairs will be holding an election next Saturday for the member who will represent Chamorro rights organizations on the Guam First Commission. Nominations are due by next Tuesday by 5pm to the Office of the President of Chamorro Affairs, located on the 4th floor of the DNA Building.

Next Saturday's election will be held at the Chamorro Village center stage area from 10am to 2pm.

Governor Eddie Calvo is waiting for the Chamorro rights organization representative to be designated in order for the Commission to hold its first meeting. The Guam Chamber of Commerce meanwhile has appointed Mark Sablan as its representative. Sablan is the vice chair of the Chamber and vice president of business development for South Pacific Petroleum Corporation.
