Alcantara leads Bank of Guam over Paradise

by Dave Delgado

Guam - Downtown, the Paseo Stadium hosted some BBL Baseball between the Paradise Fitness Jr. Nationals and Bank of Guam Athletics. The Bank didn't waste anytime cashing in on their younger opponents, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning.

The A's experience on defense kept the Jr. Nationals scoreless through 3, in the bottom of the inning Matt Muna ripped a 2-run homer over the left field wall to put his team up 5-0, Roke Alcantra Jr. followed that up with a 2-run single to give the Bank a 7-0 lead.

Bank of Guam was awarded the win after 7 innings of play due to the mercy rule, winning the ball game by a score of 13-1 to earn their first win of the 2011 season.

Steve Alcantra was the winning pitcher with 3 strikeouts.
