Guam - The Mayors Council of Guam granted a partial request for a donation of $5,000 by University of Guam professor Dr. Peter Onedera. The money was going to be used for the 8th Annual Chamoru Language Competition.  Because of government's financial problems, the mayors opted instead to sponsor the event for up to $2,500.

The mayors say that will help with the limited supplies and funds they have available.
