Guam - The Guam Legislature will receive public testimony this week on a bill that would prohibit the selling, offering for sale, trading or distribution of shark fins and ray parts. Bill 44 was introduced by Vice-Speaker B.J. Cruz and Senator Rory Respicio. Legislation has been passed in both Hawaii and the CNMI.
Cruz says if passed, Chinese restaurants on island will not be allowed to serve shark fin soup.
The hearing gets underway on Tuesday beginning at 5:30pm at the Guam Legislature in Hagatna.
