by Nick Delgado

Guam - Several units from the Guam Fire Department are battling a structure fire that fully engulfed the People's Bazaar indoor flea market at Compadres Mall on Thursday evening. GFD spokesperson Captain Andy Arceo says units from Tamuning, Barrigada and Dededo responded to the scene. He says officials are currently ventilating the area including the First Hawaiian Bank next door as they are trying to gain access inside the facility.

The fire is contained to a single unit and no one is being evacuated from the complex at this time. Arceo says firefighters will continue to release the smoke and gas from building so that they can extinguish the blaze. He tells KUAM News, "It's pretty big and we are going to be here for awhile."

No injuries were reported and GFD will make a full assessment to determine the possi ble cause(s) that sparked the fire.
