Guam - The Government of Guam is in serious financial trouble and therefore asks for a 60-day extension of all the future deadlines for the deposit of funds. That's the gist of the latest motion filed in the amended permanent injunction case by the Attorney General's Office on behalf of the local government.
There were no objections to giving the government some breathing room by the federal management team or the plaintiffs attorney. The motion states that the extension is not an attempt to have the court withdraw its order of a payment plan, or to stall the plan of action.
The next million-dollar payment is due to the court on February 1.
