Guam – Governor Eddie Calvo shared his thoughts on President Barack Obama's State of the Union address, saying, "We applaud the President for facing the nation's financial realities, just as we are doing here. We'd like to work with his administration to ensure he keeps his commitments to Guam. We are hopeful he does not view Guam's buildup, infrastructure funding, war reparations and compact impact funding as ‘unnecessary' as he proposes spending cuts.
"He promised to help us during his campaign for President, specifically on war reparations and the buildup. We'll work with Congresswoman Bordallo to see these promises through."
