Guam - Hoping to move things quickly, Department of Education Deputy Superintendent Taling Taitano along with DOE's legal counsel and procurement manager met today to get capital improvement projects identified in the Sodexo report off the ground. "What we were trying to do is fix responsibility for who is doing what and what the best approach to getting the bids out would be," she explained.
"So one of the things that Sodexo will be doing is going away and coming back with some specific recommendations about the approach we should take in terms of putting the bid package together."
The $130 million worth of renovation projects will be paid with federal stimulus funding. DOE and Sodexo hope to start the work this summer.
