Guam - Southern High Principal James Petite is clearing the record regarding concerns surfaced about missing textbooks at his campus. The issue was raised after Senator Judi Guthertz today sent a letter to the Department of Education superintendent stating that a parent informed her that his daughter has not received any of the books needed for her classes.
Guthertz questioned how students are supposed to do their work without the necessary materials.
However, Petite tells KUAM News that the issue is they just don't have enough for every student, adding that the teachers do have class sets. He also says that he spoke with the parent today and assured him that his daughter would be getting the required textbooks when they are available.
