Guam - Senator Judi Guthertz introduced legislation that would allow for the Guam Community College to host a full-time career and technical high school. Bill 6 requires GCC to revisit the issue of having the program. It would also require the Department of Education to conduct a feasibility study to determine the cost benefits before 2014.
"We have this military buildup coming and they are going to need for this buildup, so many skilled technical people not academic people but technically skilled people and we just don't have that right now covered," she said.
If signed into law, Guthertz says the new high school program would begin no later than 2018.
