Guam - The grassroots "We Are Guahan" indigenous rights organization is celebrating their one year anniversary this Friday. The group has held over 25 events and initiatives in the last year accumulating over 30,000 volunteer hours. The group has been one of the strongest advocates for shielding Pagat Village from becoming the site of a live firing range for the military, even joining in a lawsuit with the Guam Preservation Office and the National Preservation Trust Against the U.S. Department of Defense.

We Are Guahan is inviting the community to a celebration fundraiser at the Lujan House in Guam's capitol village of Hagatna. Tickets to the event are $25, with pupus and refreshments to be provided. For tickets and more information call John Blas at 707-3557 or e-mail to mailto:action@weareguahan.com.
