Guam - More money heads to GMH after a $3.8 million dollar grant was awarded to assist with Guam's healthcare and public safety. Governor Felix Camacho and Department of the Interior Assistant Secretary Tony Babauta signed the grant Tuesday, which is coming from the 2011 compact impact funds.

The funds will assist the Guam Memorial Hospital with medical equipment, public health with medical and pharmaceutical supplies, the Department of Corrections with their electronic cell locking system upgrade and the Department of Youth Affairs with facility improvements.

Governor Camacho states, "These funds come at a time when some of our island's public services are in dire need of funding to provide critical services to island residents."
