Guam - More than a week after the state of emergency was declared, the Guam Memorial Hospital has finally received $1,000,000 in U.S. Department of the Interior funds that were reprogrammed to give GMH a much-needed boost. The agency received a check through the Department of Administration for the payment.
However, none of that money will go towards paying off the $15,000,000 already owed to vendors.
Instead, checks have already been cut for the purchase of new supplies. The hospital's total accounts payable is about $23,000,000.
