Guam - It's still unknown whether the Guam Memorial Hospital will be able to pay by Friday the $39,000 left on its outstanding power bill. As a precaution, the Guam Power Authority has sent operations personnel to the hospital to ensure their backup generator is working in the event they have to disconnect electricity.
With the financial crisis at GMH, one may wonder whether it will be able to make payroll this Friday. According to associate administrator Joe Mesa, employees will be paid on that day. He referred KUAM News to spokesperson Connor Murphy for further inquiries, but he was unavailable for comment, because of today's Santa Marian Kamalen holiday for GovGuam.
