Guam - While the issue of bullying has been at the forefront of education matters lately, the Department of Education is currently in the process of drafting two different contracts to address the issue. The funds for these programs were made available through stimulus grants.
According to Deputy Superintendent Taling Taitano, negotiations for a bullying prevention program and a positive behavior intervention program have concluded. There's no word on when final contracts will be signed.
An internal affairs investigation is underway at the prison after an inmate was accidentally released from their custody. Department of Corrections director Tony Lamorena says it happened over the weekend. He admits there was a miscommunication. Officials say the prison had received an order for inmate Ben Espinosa's release, but then got a commitment order for a separate charge.
