Guam - Today is Election Day for the Filipino Community of Guam organization's officers for the next term starting January 2011 to December 2012. Members voted for the candidates at the Tamuning Senior Citizens Center.

Outgoing president Alex Gagarin says it was an honor to serve as the organization's president for the past two years, adding, "It has been an honor to serve as the president of the Filipino Community of Guam. We started our club a long, long time ago even since before I was born. So it's been a tradition for the Filipinos of Guam. So really, I'm very thankful to everybody who really helped out. Those who gave from their hearts and from their pockets even time and talents. So really - thank you very, very much. ".

Counting of the ballots will commence immediately after voting ends this evening at 6pm.
