Guam - The Guam Chamber of Commerce held a general membership meeting today where an election of the new board of directors was held. A total of twelve candidates ran for a seat on the board, with only seven vacant seats available.

Guam Chamber President David Leddy said, "There are a lot of things, not just the military buildup, there are a lot of issues at hand. Everything from workforce development to helping our education system and job creation - all these things are a part of the chamber's mandate and mission. So our board of directors are going to be very hands on with these issues."

New board members elected today include Joe Arnett from Deloitte and Touche; Ron Young from Security Title; Annmarie Muna from AM Insurance; Maureen Maratita from Glimpses Publications; and John Brown from Jones and Guerrero Company.  The two alternate directors elected to serve one-year terms include Brian Artero from Pacific Dining; and Lee Webber, president of the Micronesian Divers Association.
